If you are replacing old items in the Black Friday sales then you can save them going to waste.
Most things which can still be used can be donated or sold.
Why not?
- Donate your working TV to charity
- Donate your coat to a coat drive
- Sell last year’s party dress on an online market place
- Sell your phone to an online phone shop
If they can’t be reused, can they be recycled or stripped for parts?

The shops are full of Black Friday offers but do you need to buy your items new?
If you’re looking for a replacement phone, why not check out refurbished phones.
If you’re splashing out on a party dress for a Christmas event, why not look at hiring a dress, not only will you be able to get a gorgeous dress to wear for a fraction of the cost, but you’ll be helping prevent waste too.
Do you need to buy anything at all?
If you’re bored of your old furniture, instead of buying new, why not upcycle it to give it a fresh new look. Try painting it a different colour, covering it in a vinyl, changing the handles, etc. or add some cushions, or a cloth/throw.
Or, if your items are broken, can they be fixed?
